Shakespeare and an update
I’ve got to say the concept of 30:30 has really taken off, with one person suggesting they do a 30:30-and-a-half and another suggesting they do a 40:40 challenge on the same principle – they have a year to complete a similar sort of life tick sheet.
Needless to say, everyone’s been really supportive with suggestions so I am making some progress with the list and even have even some additional items ready to add on.
14. Read the entire works of Shakespeare. “The list is very sporty,” said Zita. And then suddenly this thought made the cut. Surprisingly a large number of people already have a complete works which they are happy to lend me. Just for sheer time restrictions I’m going to accept seeing the play as a way of ticking off a works.
Here’s what I remember I’ve read/seen so far:
- A Midsummer’s Night Dream
- Much Ado About Nothing
- The Tempest
- Othello
- The Taming of the Shrew
- Romeo and Juiliet

I have read some of the sonnets and I saw one of the Henry plays but I’m not sure which one it was so I’m discounting it for now. Maybe this will even help with my University Challenge scores!
15. Go up Snowdon It was on Catherine’s to do list before she turned 30 so I’m sure I can rope her in for this
16. Try fencing Zita wants to come with me and Mary-Ann suggested a course at Fenton.
17 – 30…..
As for the others…
#3. I’ve found a website which offers adults free taster courses in sea kayaking in September, in Angelsey. I’ve emailed Andy, the organiser. Hopefully I’ll hear from him soon.
#2/#13. Parkinson’s UK have been really good with supporting my charity abseil. And have put me a goody bag in the post to help with my endeavours.
